Well it may have been a wet Sunday in Manchester, however i was having a ball with a new model to McDonlad Photography Toni Jordan. Kat Whittaker, MUA extroidenaire organised the styling, hair & makeup, dont ask me how she’s a superstar & I love working with her.

Hatt & Jc | Wedding Photographer Manchester

Well what a great day we had at the wedding of Harriet & Jc. The wedding was held around 30 minutes from Chester near the the Welsh borders. Harriet was an absolute super star & was really great fun to work with, including having some fun in the hay fields after the ceremony, there’s a signature image on our wedding home page for you to check out.

Everyone knows that your wedding day is such an exciting, eventful and happy day. What’s more it flies by and you usually don’t get the chance to repeat it.
Well Sharon & Graham thought differently. They decided to celebrate their first anniversary in real style and pulled out all the stops to have some fabulous wedding portraits taken at Hoole Hall in Chester. Sharon enjoyed a full morning of pampering and we all enjoyed a couple of glasses of champagne to get everyone in the mood (what a job!).

Little Olivia

Hi All

Meet Olivia. We had a great time capturing these images, she was a perfectly behaved little lady for four months old.

As some of you may know we're expecting our first baby in late October, and meeting Olivia has made us even more excited. If you know Andy, you may be surprised to hear he was a big ball of mush, but with those big baby blue eyes can you blame him. He really hasn't stopped talking about her since.

Urban Style Pre-Wedding Shoot In Manchester

Erika & I are really pleased to have been asked to photograph our friends wedding. Stuart & Annie are having their big day in an idylic setting in the Lake District.

So as a contrast for their Pre Wedding shoot we thought we'd get them out and about in vibrant Manchester. In between a few cappuccinos and a tasty bite to eat, we've created some contemporary and stylish images to reflect their personalities.

McDonald Photography is expanding

HI Everbody

Well Erika & i have taken the decision to re-invest this year in our web presence. We're finding so many people are interested in more and more detail. So we decided, if that's what our customers want, your wishes shall be granted. We're now going to have a dedicated portrait site, a dedicated wedding site with lots more detail & also a more complete blog with lots more opportunity to showcase our work in its full glory. We will be working hard to complete this over the next 3-4 weeks so we'll keep you posted with the progress.Of course we're going to have great launch party, well a bottle of bubbly between Erika & I anyhow.

Studio images from Saturday 13th June

HI Everyone

Firstly what a great weekend I had, Erika & I went along to the comedy store in Manchester. Erika is now 5 months pregnant which is just awesome, but i was a little concerned with the belly laughing at one point. Happy times! :-)


I also spent a day in the studio on saturday with three great people, which was just fabulous so here are a few from hundreds of shots from the day which i've picked out for you to have a peek at.

I'm really excited about how this time spent stepping back & learning new techniques is going to push my wedding & portrait work to a new level.
